The Owls classroom is a place for the continuation of skills learned in the Fawns class. Here the children grow in knowledge and gain greater insight that will support their transition into the elementary school setting. The Owls focus is also on building more independence, honing social skills, increasing critical thinking, and practicing better conflict resolution techniques. They do this in a developmentally appropriate, hands-on, play-based environment with teachers who love Jesus. Children choose from a variety of learning centers that include music, movement, art, science, math, literacy, and sensory stations. Throughout the year teachers will assess progress and focus on each child’s needs alongside their families. As teachers learn more about an Owl’s strengths, they work on how to best prepare them for Kindergarten with grace and patience.
